Wetlands Research Technology Center Title

Jacob F. Berkowitz, PhD, Director

The Wetlands Research and Technology Center (WRTC) consolidates administrative, technological, and research skills in the area of wetlands science and engineering that are available at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC). The ERDC has long been recognized as a center for wetlands expertise, conducting extensive environmental research in wetland systems. The WRTC provides a single point of contact for wetlands research and development, guidance, support and technology transfer.

The WRTC provides access to an array of technical specialists and interdisciplinary teams in research areas that emphasize the interrelationships of biological, physical, and chemical environments in order to provide fundamental understanding of ecological processes and dynamics in wetland ecosystems. Through the WRTC, scientists and engineers who work in the areas of ecology, hydraulics, hydrology, chemistry, geology, physics, computer science, biology, forestry, archaeology, and many other fields are available to facilitate and address wetland inquiries. The WRTC serves the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Army and other Department of Defense agencies, other Government agencies, academia, industry and the general public.
